“Set patterns, incapable of adaptability, of pliability, only offer a better cage. Truth
is outside of all patterns.”
Your success in life is directly correlated with your ability to adapt
I want you to think about that for a moment
The degree of your willingness to be flexible determines the scope and extent of your achievements.
Take a comedian for instance. Let’s say he crafted the perfect joke. He mastered its story, cadence, and deliverance. Would that one joke be enough to propel his career into stardom?
Of course not. Eventually, his audience would expect more. And if he only put his stock in that one joke, he’d fail – or never get a gig beyond the smoke-filled rooms of the local bars.
But what would happen if he tested new material each night? And honed his improvisation? The sky would be the limit for our comedian. That’s what I want for you.
See, you can be the smartest guy in the room, but if you have self-limiting beliefs that restrict you from applying your intelligence in unconventional ways, you’ll only be as good as you are today.
You have to push your boundaries in order to grow. There’s no other way around it.
After all, smooth seas never made a skilled sailor.
